After meeting your dedicated guide at the water’s edge, you’ll get set up with your kayak, paddle, and life vest before pushing off into the calm, crystal-clear waters of the Colorado River. As you paddle through the canyon, towering rock walls rise around you, creating one of the most breathtaking landscapes just outside of Las Vegas.

Keep an eye out along the shoreline for desert bighorn sheep, or look to the skies where bald eagles are often seen soaring overhead. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating insights into the river’s history—from early exploration to the engineering of the Hoover Dam—while tailoring the experience to your group’s interests.

We’ll make scenic stops along the way to take it all in, stretch, and capture photos—without feeling rushed.

The highlight of the tour is reaching the Emerald Cave, where sunlight reflects off the water to create its signature glowing green effect. You’ll have time to take photos, enjoy the moment, and fully experience one of the most unique natural sights in the region before paddling back to Willow Beach.

Parking is available at Willow Beach Marina. The Lake Mead National Recreation Area entrance fee is $25 per vehicle.

From the parking area, it’s a short walk to Kayak Beach, where the tour begins.

Parking can fill up on weekends and holidays, so arriving early is recommended.
